The Year of the Open Door

As we embark on the “Year of the Open Door” for 2024, let us embrace the promise of abundant opportunities inspired by the theme rooted in John 10:8, 9, and 10. As we contemplate the significance of this scripture, we understand that Christ is the door—our gateway to endless possibilities and accomplishing our goals.

This year’s theme invites us to step into the open door, recognizing that it may also lead us through thresholds that bring tensions and fears. Just as John 10:8, 9, and 10 reveal, He is the door, and in Him, we find the strength and courage to confront any fears that may seek to grip our hearts.

As we traverse the hills and valleys beyond the open door, we should remember that it’s in the valleys we learn to trust Him. While some may assume that the journey through the door will be all mountain tops, the truth is that there will be challenges. However, in these challenges, we apprehend the purpose for which we’ve been called. Scripture reminds us we will meet a thief along the way, too. But God will protect you.

This year’s primary goal is a closer, more intimate relationship with Christ. Sometimes, God may make the path harder to teach us to trust Him more fully. He is the door, and entering through Him guarantees success, but it doesn’t mean there are no hard times. In Christ Jesus, there is only one way, and through Him, we find salvation.

This is the year to apprehend what we’ve been apprehended for. Step through the door and walk with Him. Your heart and body will be delivered from fears, and as you navigate through the challenges, trust in His guidance and grace.
