Let Love Resound!

Let’s let love resound this Christmas season.

1 John 4:18 teaches us,

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. We love because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. Andthis commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.”

1 Corinthians 13:1 describes what it’s like without love. It irritates your spirit if someone doesn’t operate from a place of love.

“If I speak with the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.”

So how do we operate from love?

When we teach others about Christ’s love, we often have to show them love first. Maybe scrape their ice or shovel their snow without being asked. Usually, what you do for others shows love and allows them to open up and trust you.

It’s a great question to ask yourself.

How are you doing with that daily?

In 1 John 5:4, we read,

“for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”

The world is full of fear and phobia that can cause us to put faith in something else. Religion can instill fear and shame. But perfect love casts out fear.

Choose love because the love of God chose you. A great price was paid for you. He loves you so much. In the same way, you receive that love, choose love in your day-to-day activities. Choose it for family, coworkers, neighbors, and more.

As we go into Christmas, what are you operating from?

God so loved the world that He gave His only son. That’s perfect love. Remember, you can’t say you love God but hate your brother. If that is tough for you, then ask God to help you.
