Enter His Goodness Daily!!
We all know that scripture, taste, and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8). And that goodness is all around us now. We’ve entered the month of December – a month of so much joy!! As a child of God, you are a carrier of that joy! It would help if we always recognized that. It’s a choice that we make every single day. We choose to set our gaze and thoughts upon the Lord or not.
By entertaining the goodness of God in every moment, we choose joy. Yes, there will still be difficulty, but in the midst of that, we CAN choose joy!!
How do you harness that joy regularly? How do you make every moment count regardless of the size of the crowd?
This week I talked to someone whose life has been so moved by God. But he shared that he missed two opportunities to share His testimony this week. He missed it. It’s important to remember that does happen. It’s what you do next that counts. Ask the Lord to give you that opportunity again (Every meeting is a divine opportunity when you are living in Christ). Ask the Lord for mercy and grace to return to it because that opportunity might still exist. If the door is still open, step through it and deliver what the Lord has given you to speak or do.
We can start every day with that joy in the Lord. Before you get out of bed in the AM, tell the Lord good morning. Ask God – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit what He wants to do with you today.
There will be days that He says, let’s hang out for a while, and other days He’ll give you specific assignments. Ask Him in those times to be present with you and to speak through you. Being in a relationship with the Lord prepares you for anything. Worship Him, write with Him, hang out with Him. There is nothing better than to know Christ. John 15:5 tells us to abide in Him, and He will abide in Him.
So if you missed an opportunity, repent and go back and see if the opportunity is still there. If it is – apprehend it. If God opened the door, see if it’s still open and take the chance.
Ask God to give you boldness!
Look for opportunities to speak into the lives around us. If we miss it, ask Him to allow us to go back. And if we missed the opportunity, ask the Lord for forgiveness and help not to miss another one.
