Our God is a Redeeming God!
There is so much going on in the life of the church and the nation. How are you doing with all of it? Shaking is happening; in reality, it’s always happening somewhere and in some way.
The word that God is speaking to me is redemption.
Our God is a redeeming God. His redemption is a silver cord that we see throughout the old testament until Jesus died for us on the cross and resurrected.
And our God is still redeeming today through you and me!
And here’s why- He loves us. We can look at many verses to be reminded of how and why God made us and how He loves us. All you have to do is open up the Word.
But it’s crucial- because He knew and chose you from the beginning. You have to go through things to get to the other side. So often, we say, “no, I don’t want to go through this.” In recent years, I can look at difficult things seeing that it’s happening for a reason. But it wasn’t always that easy to understand His redemption.
There is always redemption in Christ. He was manifested on this earth to utterly destroy the devil’s works (1 John 3:8). Yet, even knowing that, we get so caught up in the difficulties that we lose focus. It’s hard even to lift our heads and see at times, but we must remind ourselves and others to do so.
With the election, so many people are down because they don’t think we have the right person; they don’t like anyone on the ballot. This is where we have to crucify our flesh and vote from biblical morals. We have to stay engaged in society. Because if we don’t, satan will; the only thing necessary for evil to triumph in the world is that good men do nothing.
In the 60s, people thought Jesus was coming back so quickly that they left their posts ( and allowed the voids) in politics, education, and other areas to be filled by people driven by world systems. We see this with prayer being removed from the schools and politics left to ungodly leaders (for the most part).
But…redemption. In the end, Christ wins and reigns triumphantly.
So quit worrying – because it does you no good. Stop worrying about your children, marriages, politics, and the economy. Cast your cares entirely upon God. Everything does and should go to God.
God is not worried – He sees what’s happening, but He has seen it all before. There were other decades and centuries when the Word of God was rare (1 Samuel 3:1).
God is a redeeming God. The other morning I was out at 7:30 AM and saw such an incredible rainbow. Seeing the sky that looked like it was on fire and a complete rainbow was fascinating. It was a reminder of God’s promise of redemption.
The restoration of creation is God’s heartbeat. And it happens through us. He gave us all authority in Heaven and earth when we received the Holy Spirit. We need to pray and believe it – we need to see Heaven today.
So many college students have the mindset to “just get through” their college years. But the thing is, that’s a wrong mindset. You are there for a purpose and God’s mission. It’s time to thrive and not just survive.
The core issue of what usually holds us back is our mindset. We should see ourselves as world changers, history makers, and campus igniters. If you are always looking at the nitpicky things that cause you to be offended and bring accusation, then you are the devil’s work (Revelation 12:10). That’s the bait of satan, and it’s offense.
This week we have talked to many people with marital issues and offenses who are surrounded by gossip and slander. As the saying goes, what you tolerate now is embraced in the next season. Don’t give room the enemy any room, but rather make room for the Lord to work in your life.
Be anxious and worry about nothing. Walk in a place of mercy and extend it to others – your spouse, children, and co-workers. No, don’t tolerate it if it is detrimental to someone’s life, business, or development. But also remember that when discipling someone, you are to help them renew their minds from a worldly perspective to a kingdom perspective, so offer grace and walk alongside them.
Stay focused on redemption.
There is so much happening, and it’s exciting. Harvest time is upon us. If you don’t see it, ask the Lord to give you eyes to see.
If you’ve been worrying and offended, repent and turn to the King. Believe in His redemption. Don’t stress and be anxious. In ALL things, take it before the Lord.
