Do you praise Him always?
“I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.”
As true believers, we need to walk this out without falling into the trappings of our prayers of gratitude becoming empty and ritualistic. Whenever we are in the midst of our daily routine, we need to thank God for it—praying in the Spirit and appreciating His presence. Thank Him, and speak to Him, knowing that we are blessed, reminding ourselves of all we have. This should be continual because He is always on our journey with us. And it should be sincere every day.
Sometimes that is easier than other times. There are times when the presence of God is so strong that we don’t want to leave it. We should crave and want to dig into the goodness of God in those times AND when it’s not that easy. When we read, “O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together,” well, that’s what we do in worship together. And God will hear us and deliver us from our fears.
Once we experience that, we need to share it with others. It’s not an experience we can keep to ourselves. People are going through stuff – they need our faith. Gather them and do it together. We are all called.
If we aren’t doing this, we are missing the great calling. He invites us into a beautiful narrative of His love. Bless Him and have praise coming ever from your lips. Boast in the Lord and in what He is doing in your life. Then grab hold of others and do it together.
Difficulties may be here – but we will bless the Lord in the middle of them. When we seek Him, He hears us. Psalm 34 goes on to say,
“This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him from all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.”
Where will you put your focus? In Him or your troubles?
Let’s put our focus on Him and worship together.
