Do You Know the Hope of God’s Calling In Your Life?

Take a moment to focus on Ephesians 1:17-23.

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what the hope of His calling is, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

My prayer is that you want this spirit of wisdom and enlightenment in Him. Paul writes this while in prison – addressing this as a deep prayer to the church’s people. But understand, as you move to this level of enlightenment in Christ, there will always be counterattacks. We have to remember that Christ is above all of that (above all principalities). We have to recognize that we are seated in Heavenly places with Him.

When Paul talks about the riches of the glory of His inheritance, he is talking about spiritual blessings – the goodness of God in our lives. This is what brings us peace and joy.

May you know what the hope of His calling in your life is. And if you do, may you know that you are blessed. And if you are blessed, it is to be a blessing for others. Just as the Son of Man didn’t come to be served but to serve, that must be our heart as well.
