Being Sent

On August 28th, Keystone Church (KeyChurch) and pastors Perry and Jacquie Babb launched Jessica and I with a team to plant Center City Church in Altoona.  Then on September 11th, we traveled to Rock City Church in Baltimore and Bishop Bart Pierce prayed over us and also commissioned us as well.   We have been so blessed to have these churches and mentors in our lives.

Since I was in my early 20s, I understood that I wanted to follow the biblical pattern of being sent provided in the books of Acts when Paul and Barnabas were sent by the apostles and prophets.

We were called called prophetically over a year and a half ago when Bishop Bart Pierce came to a KeyChurch leaders meeting in March of 2015.  Just several weeks prior to that, another prophetic word was delivered to me regarding being called to pastor in Altoona through a pastor friend, Brian Tunstall.   And now according to the word that the Lord had spoken through His prophets, we were apostolically commissioned.

Madagascar Ministry Trip (Aug 16th 2017)

Hi Friends!  I’m excited to share an incredible opportunity with you.  On Aug 16, Blaise (my daughter), Jim Virgilio (my father in law) and I are heading on a 3 generation missions trip to Madagascar!  If you don’t already know, Madagascar is an island nation off the coast of Southeast Africa, located in the Indian Ocean. We will be based in Antananarivo, the capital city where we will be serving Pastor Haja Rafidison who is also a church planter!

We are traveling with a group out of Rock City Church in Baltimore and will be participating in a weeklong leadership conference and Bible School Graduation where we will train, equip and inspire them to impact their nation.  Additionally, we will minister in schools, hospitals and a prison.  I will be preaching daily and serving wherever I can.  Blaise will be working with youth, speaking and hopefully using basketball as a ministry tool.  Jim V will be our handyman and will use his gifts to bless the church there through building, repairing and maintaining the facilities.  It’s going to be a full and fruitful trip!

This will be Blaise’s first missions trip and her grandpa and I are thrilled to share it with her!  I believe this trip will impact her in powerful ways and bring forth more of the destiny that God has already established in her life.  I am also believing for a significant relational connection with the churches in Madagascar as we come together to share, inspire and impart what God has shared with us!

The trip is upon us.  By God’s grace and through a lot of hard work, we’ve raised $7,750 towards the entire budget of $10,000 (original budget was $8500 but there were some added expenses I didn’t expect = rookie traveler to Africa). We are still hoping to raise $2,250.

Would you consider partnering with us in this incredible opportunity?  Every gift matters and helps us get there.  Our hope is that we will see such a tremendous response that we will be able to bless the church in Madagascar with a financial gift while we are there.  Your contribution is tax deductible.

Please pray for us as we prepare to go and while we are there.  Let us know if you’d like email updates while we are there.  Pray for strength, wisdom, safety, good health and clarity as we minister.

Thanks for your support!  It means so much to us and we look forward to sharing the good news of what God has done when we return!  If you would like to receive email update, be sure to to let us know.

Thank you and God Bless,

Pastor Jim Kilmartin
